Ignore the Hot Weather
August 29th, 2011
You might not like the hot weather but soon as you set foot in the western Syrian town of Palmrya, you’ll surely start falling in love with the place. It is strategically located at the heart of the Syrian desert, in the western part of the country, near to Iraq. It was here that merchants traded silk from China to be delivered to the places in Mediterranean. That was the picture of ancient Palmyra. Now, it’s all about its ruins which are far more different to that of Balbek and Jerash in nearby Jordan and Lebanon. These are some of the biggest Roman ruins in the Middle East and well worth a visit.
