Steel is the most common material
April 30th, 2011
Steel is the most common material that is used for number plates across the world, with colours varying greatly, but the basic manufacturing method is common. Some plates have raised letters and others are flat. The raised character plates are manufactured in the following way. The characters are pressed into the steel plate of the right size, the entire plate is painted and the very top of the raised characters are then painted. The flat plates are made in a similar way, other then there is no pressing process at the start. Symbols and graphics are creeping into the designs to create more interest.
