Views On “Chrysler Board Flexes Its Muscle, Showing Independence From Fiat”

What’s funny is that Daimler actually PAID to buy Chrysler unlike Fiat which was given Chrysler for FREE thanks to the generosity of USA Taxpayers.
The problem as you stated is that Fiat is a SMALL car company building SMALL cars. Small cars is a small segment of the US auto market, although it is growing. The only thing I have seen Marchionne do so far is to move people around like chess pieces on a chess board because he is in way over his head and his hubris got in the way of common sense.
The other problem is that Marchionne did not do enough due diligence before he jumped into the pool before looking to see if there was any water.
Before Fiat can bring any meaningful new products to market Chrysler will once again be bankrupt. Chrysler’s sales are dropping like a Led Zeppelin and the products are awful as compared to other cars.
